TASTING: Prolonged ageing gives this grappa an exceptionally full colour, together with good softness and moderate sweetness. The barrique has allowed the spicy aromas to develop exceptionally well in the distillate, with very sharp notes ranging from pepper to cloves, from nutmeg to tobacco, from aniseed to liquorice. This very sharp tip accompanies the heart of the raw material, which is revealed with fruity aromas of jam, fruit in syrup, baked apple, prune, sultana, almond and walnut. This is followed by a hint of flowers and honey. For meditation, perhaps accompanied by bitter chocolate or an important cigar.
