George Willsher was a man who could hardly conform to norms and rules. He thought and acted differently and was not afraid to take risks and go against those who suggested he act differently. The idea for Black Bull came while he was in his liquor store in Dundee in 1864. What he wanted to create was a bold and different whiskey, a blend with a high malt content, a true highlander with a great pedigree.

While everyone else was trying to conform to a certain style, George Willsher decided to create something different. A blended scotch whiskey made with 50 percent single malt and 50 percent single grain bottled at 100 proof. All whiskies are aged in American ex-bourbon oak barrels and European casks that have previously contained sherry.

 

 

Rich, robust malt whiskies from the highlands and speyside are matured in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks and then blended with grain whiskies from the lowlands aged in ex-bourbon casks. 50% malt and 50% grain for a whiskey bottled at 50% vol. Brace yourself and enjoy the ride.
