The grapes: 100% Lagrein
The vineyard: The vines were recently planted on flat, sandy soils of alluvial origin. The training system adopted is the Trentino pergola and the production per hectare is 95 q.
The vines are 18 years old.
Vinification:The ripe grapes harvested towards the end of September were crushed, destemmed, and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 6 days at a controlled temperature, at a maximum of 26°C.
Maturation: After racking, the wine completes malalcoholic fermentation, also in stainless steel. After 6 months of ageing, still in steel, it is racked off and bottled young.
The wine: Intense ruby red with violet reflections; fruity bouquet with clear hints of raspberry, blackberry and strawberry. The flavour is vinous, pleasant with good structure and the right balance.

Alcohol 12.90% Vol;
Total acidity 5.30 g/l;
pH 3.40
Food pairings: Ideal with beef, lamb, kid, game and lightly matured cheeses.
Serving temperature: 18° C
The area of origin of this vine is the Gries plain near Bolzano, where the Benedictines of the Muri convent have cultivated it since time immemorial. Brought to Trentino in the collections of the Istituto Agrario di San Michele all'Adige, it found a certain diffusion in the Piana Rotaliana and also in the hills of Trento.
