The period between the late 19th and early 20th centuries is considered the "golden age" of French aperitif wines, known as "quinquinas" or "kinas." Kina L'Aéro d'Or reflects an Alpine-Provençal style, with white wine made from Piedmont-produced cortese grapes infused with cinchona bark, orange peel, absinthe and other exotic spices. The product is a tribute to the first flight across the English Channel, made in 1909 by Frenchman Louis Blériot in his creation, the monoplane.
