Cave de Donnas

Entering the Aosta Valley, at the entrance to the Gressoney Valley, stand some extraordinary vineyards, an absolute symbol of man's industriousness in the mountains. In 1971 some winegrowers decided to create a cooperative that, with tenacity and determined action, could help keep Picotendro, one of the mountain clones of Nebbiolo, alive. The vineyards are fully terraced and built on arbors supported by monumental pillars. With the aim of enhancing and protecting the vig ne with the steepest slopes (greater than 100%) since 2020, a product line has been dedicated to ensure a decent remuneration for the work of these extreme vine growers.
