Philosophy.
Offering the Beauty and Goodness of the heart of Valpolicella:
is the philosophy that inspires the Rubinelli Vajol farm.
The land of Vajol is located exactly in the geographic center of historic Valpolicella.
The Beauty of the old farmhouse, the winery, the Corte Sant'Anna and the landscape of Vajol, land sprinkled with native vines, drawn by dry stone walls, the marogne, and dotted with olive, almond and cherry trees, is the quintessential beauty of all Valpolicella.
And equally the Goodness of the wine, heady juice of the grapes grown at Vajol, holds the secret to the sweetness that flows from the heart of Valpolicella. There is a warm time for the slow ripening of the grapes in the sunny basin, on the rows lying between the hill and the slope, a fair time for the resting and drying of the best chosen bunches, and finally a long time for the dreamy sleep of the wine, finally dwelling in large oak barrels, in the cool, dark cellar dug into the tuff.
Gaetano Rubinelli is the founder of the Rubinelli family, which has always lived in Valpolicella.
After designing and building the Chievo dam on the Adige River, which supplied electricity to Verona's industries in the early 20th century, he bought the Vajol countryside, because of its perfect basin shape, located exactly in the heart of historic Valpolicella.
Over the years, the Rubinelli family's desire to produce a cru of Vajol in which the excellence of the product of this land can be fully expressed: grapes of the highest quality, the result of ideal exposure to the sun and perfect drying in the ventilated and temperate climate of the Conca del Vajol.
