Le Ragose

The company's approach is aimed at achieving the highest quality in the cultivation of the main native grape varieties (Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella) to be used for the production of Amarone, Recioto and Valpolicella wines.

The correct choice of planting parameters for the Trentino simple pergola vineyards (density and rootstocks of the vines, orientation and inclination of the pergola) and its careful management (fertilization, winter pruning, green pruning, stripping and thinning of the bunches) make it an excellent training system for the varieties grown in the Veronese hills.

The winery makes wine only from grapes from its own vineyards, planted in the proportions required by the specifications: their destination for the production of Amarone, Valpolicella or Ripasso wine is decided year by year, according to the characteristics of the grapes with respect to seasonal trends.

The hilly position and favorable exposure to winds also provide an ideal climate for drying the grapes.

Grapes are processed by destemming, and the following fermentations are carried out by indigenous yeasts.

Aging is conducted mainly in Slavonian oak barrels of different ages, with capacities ranging from 10 to 60 hectoliters, with the aim of respecting the characteristics of the terroir, which, through aromas and flavors derived from it, give the wine character and recognizability. This has been confirmed over time by the attention that industry information has devoted to the company's products.

Paolo and Marco Galli lead the Le Ragose Farm today, continuing the production philosophy traced by their parents Arnaldo and Marta, and completing their plans for growth, development and improvement.
