 Pietradolce
Solicchiata (CT)
It is between Solicchiata and Passopisciaro, on the northern slope of Etna, that we find Pietradolce, founded and run by the Faro family and divided into three different plots. 35 hectares of property, between 600 and 900 metres above sea level, made up of vines with between 50 and 65 of nerello mascalese predominantly with a small part planted with Carricante, from a 120-year-old pre-phylloxera vineyard, from whose grapes the Archineri Etna Bianco and Sant'Andrea are vinified. Pietradolce's philosophy is to respect the individual terroirs, vinifying the grapes separately and thus enhancing the smallest nuances. Soils of a franc-sandy nature with abundant mineral elements, a gift of Etna, give the wines unique peculiarities where the true standard-bearer is the Vigna Barbagalli, from pre-phylloxera sapling vines almost 100 years old. A great love for their land: this is the philosophy behind the work of the Faro family, which after only fifteen years confirms itself as one of the greatest interpreters of this extraordinary land.
