Celico (CS)
Three friends who decide to rent an old vineyard, partly for fun and partly out of passion: this is how this small winery was born, making wine from grapes grown in small villages in the Cosenza hinterland. It is the story of an engineer (Pierpaolo), an architect (Damiano) and an educator (Michele), but above all of a friendship intertwined with the vine. Natural and organic approach, only native vines such as sweet and canine magliocco, gaglioppo, black and white greco, montonico, pecorello and black guarnaccia. Alberto's small vineyard, less than half a hectare planted with 30-year-old vines, is almost a seedbed of ancient Calabrian vines, with vines planted in 'complantazione' and from whose grapes the Appianum, the house bishop, is made. The cellar inside a disused 1950s cinema is the home of this new reality destined to make a name for itself as an icon of Calabrian wine.
