Azienda Agricola Marco Porello

 Marco Porello
Canale (CN)
It all began in the 1930s when Cesare Porello transformed the small estate into a real company dedicated to the production of wine and also peaches, the fruit for which the village of Canale was then known. His inheritance was picked up by his sons Riccardo and Ettore who, far-sighted and in contrast with the times, dedicated themselves to the culture of the grape, increasing the area under vine and concentrating the vineyards in the most suitable areas. In 1994, the return to the company of Marco Porello, Riccardo's son, after some experience as oenologist in Italy and France, marked the turning point! Attention to quality, as well as attention to the work in the vineyard and the utmost care for every detail, is the 'leitmotif' of this reality somewhere between tradition and innovation. Three white wines, all from the territory and vinified in steel, where the company's standard-bearer is Camestri, from the vineyard of the same name in Vezza d'Alba, facing east on sandy soils with a high gradient. Barbera is planted in the commune of Canale in the Mommiano vineyard and in a small parcel with almost 50-year-old vines, Filatura. The Nebbiolo comes from the vineyards of both Vezza, while in Canale, in the older vineyards facing south-west, the Torretta and San Michele are born. A young company where tradition keeps pace with the times, thanks to the care the Porello family dedicates to its vineyards every day.
