Alpestre is an elixir first produced 150 years ago by the Marist Friar Emanuel and is still produced today following the ancient secret recipe that counts the distillation of as many as 34 medicinal, antiseptic and digestive herbs.
A true natural elixir with no added sugar or artificial flavors, it is aged in oak barrels and bottled without being filtered.
It wears a light golden color, while offering a very pleasant heady herbaceous and menthol sensation on the nose.
The sip is particularly balsamic and dry, evolving in the finish into a taste tending toward bitterness.
Alpestre is an excellent digestive; many use it to aid sleep simply by diluting it with hot water and honey before going to sleep.
