Tiefenbrunner: The History of Winegrowing in South Tyrol.

Tiefenbrunner is a symbol of historical winemaking in South Tyrol. The “Linticlar” estate is first mentioned in official records in 1225. In 1848, the Turmhof was registered as a winery, making it one of the oldest wineries in the region.

Herbert Tiefenbrunner began his career as a master cellarer when he was only 15 years old and, in 1943, started the bottling business with the support of his wife Hilde. Today, the fifth generation, represented by Christof and Sabine, runs the estate, with the support of their children Anna and Johannes.

The estate covers 25 hectares in Niclara, Cortaccia, and Magrè, between 250 and 1,000 meters above sea level, and benefits from grapes from 55 hectares of historic vintners. The mild climate and slightly clayey soils with a high limestone content create ideal conditions for viticulture. Located on the western slope of the Bassa Atesina, the vineyards enjoy an optimal microclimate and exposures.

A real gem is the vineyard at 1,000 meters on Mount Favogna, where Feldmarschall von Fenner, the highest Müller-Thurgau vineyard in Europe, is produced. This project testifies to Tiefenbrunner's expertise and foresight, cementing its reputation as one of the leading interpreters of winemaking in South Tyrol.
