GEWÜRZTRAMINER Grape variety: Gewürztraminer - Alto Adige DOC

Origin: A wine with a strong character that comes from selected areas where low-trained vines are cultivated in guyot systems. This Gewürztraminer grows in the best vine-growing terrain and under ideal conditions on the hills around the village of Cortaccia. The favourable location together with the sandy, gravelly and limey soils, ideal sunshine and good aeration of the clusters favour the ripening of grapes of excellent quality.

Yield: 50 hl per hectare Vinification: the bunches are poured into the pneumatic press already crushed and destemmed. The grapes are cold macerated for 6 to 8 hours before pressing in order to enhance the fruitiness of the wine. After light pressing, the deposits are left to decant naturally. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks with pure yeasts at a controlled temperature of 19° C.

Organoleptic properties: certainly the most typical of the South Tyrolean whites, full-bodied and unmistakably aromatic.

Colour: very bright straw yellow to golden yellow Bouquet: with herbaceous notes, reminiscent of muscat, dried flowers, carnation and rose petals. Aromas, especially of peaches and apricots, intertwine with exotic scents of lychees, mango and passion fruit Flavour: round, aromatic, rich, fresh and lively, with low, soft acidity. A Gewürztraminer that convinces through its elegant typicity and persistence

Pairings: With savoury starters such as sausages and cold cuts, grilled or fried fish and shellfish, white meats, cheeses and Asian cuisine.

Serving temperature: 10 - 12° C

Ageing time: 3 - 4 years
