Our History
Azienda Agricola Cà La Bionda is located in the municipality of Marano di Valpolicella, in the heart of the historic Valpolicella classico area. The company was founded in 1902 by Pietro Castellani (namesake of the current owner), and is currently run by the fourth generation represented by brothers Alessandro, oenologist, and Nicola, agronomist.
The winery owns 29 hectares of land, in a hilly position, mainly planted with vines, at an altitude ranging from 150 to 300 meters, with eastern, southeastern exposure.
The wines produced are a faithful expression of the territory and valley of Marano. The grapes used are the indigenous ones and the winemaking and aging techniques the traditional ones.
The winery has been certified organic since 2016 and in 2008, together with other producers, contributed to the creation of FIVI: Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti (Italian Federation of Independent Winemakers).
The FIVI brand represents winemakers who follow the entire supply chain on their own: they cultivate their own vineyards, vinify their own grapes, bottle their own wines, and take care of their own sales.
