Vinification: grape selection and mechanical destemming. No maceration on the skins. Soft pressing with traditional vertical press. Static defecation for 2 days to eliminate the heaviest lees. Use of pied de cuve, introduced into the must on day 4. Very long alcoholic and malolactic fermentation for approximately 8 months. Continuous and measured suspension of light lees (batonnage)
Ageing: steel
Bottling: the wine was filtered using a semi-sterile filter. Bottled while still slightly alive, it was never brought to temperatures close to or below 0° C
Colour: intense, bright golden yellow with light greenish reflections
Nose: against a still slightly woody background, sweet hints of ripe fruit (white peach and plum, above all), slight notes of white flowers
Taste: full-bodied, sweet but fresh, voluminous, fat, persistent
Format: 0.75 l bottle
Alcoholic Grade: 14.5% vol
La Vernaccia della cantina La Lastra è un vino che offre profumi freschi e leggermente fruttati e speziati, dotato di una buona struttura e persistenza.
Il Pinot Bianco arrivò in Alto Adige, insieme con le altre varietà borgognesi, un po’ oltre 100 anni fa. Solo lui però ha avuto un riscontro immediato, diventando la varietà bianca più importante della provincia.
