Founded by royal decree on 10 September 1756, the Real Companhia Velha is Portugal's oldest and most emblematic winery with its 260-year history serving the Douro. Quinta das Carvalhas, which belongs to the Companhia, is the most spectacular property in the Douro Valley, enjoying a magnificent prominent position on the left bank of the river, in Pinhao. Its oldest vineyards, almost 100 years old, are an incredible treasure, representing some of the oldest indigenous grape varieties in the Douro Valley.
Quinta Das Carvalhas Vintage 2018 is a vintage Port wine for meditation and also ready for ageing; remarkably complex but at the same time still young and also enjoyable as a fresh aperitif, according to Portuguese custom.
