Red Wine Primitivo IGT Puglia "Picuraru" Pajaru (75cl 15%) -on

Picuraru, from the Pajaru estate, is a Primitivo whose harvest takes place from the first decade of September. Vinification involves a long maceration of the skins for 35 days and fermentation in steel. Aging involves a 6-month stay in French and Slavonian oak tonneaux (20% first-passage and 80% second-passage woods) and an additional 4 months in bottle. A majestic deep ruby red wine laden with intensity, the bewitching aromas of ripe red fruit on the nose turn to notes of plum, cocoa, leather and black pepper in the mouth. PICURARU is a warm, persistent and quite tannic wine that gives more expression if left to mature a couple of years. PICURARU goes well with legume soups with bacon, pasta with meat sauce and aged cheeses.
